From January 20 to January 21, 2024, we are going to have some big shifts.
The Sun and Pluto meet at the last moment of the last degree of Capricorn (29°59′).
They then move hand in hand in Aquarius, so one day later, on January 21, 2024, both the Sun and Pluto are at 0°.
This is the time of year when the Sun enters Aquarius. This is the entry of Pluto into Aquarius once every 250 years. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to align your life goals and purpose (Sun) with the transformative power of collective change (Pluto).
An important chapter of your life is coming to an end. When the Sun and Pluto meet at the end of Capricorn, you feel a sense of urgency to make a breakthrough and find closure in the area of life associated with Capricorn in your chart.
The impact of Pluto entering Aquarius is huge. Pluto conjunct the Sun makes things personal. The sun makes it easier to understand this transformation. The Sun-Pluto conjunction is a unique opportunity to examine what Pluto’s transformation in Aquarius means for you personally.
The sun is our essence. It is the center point of the circle. This is our spiritual purpose—our purpose and direction in life.
We identify strongly with the sun because it gives meaning to our existence. Of course, all other planets created us as unique individuals. But the sun is in the center. This is the core of our existence.
As a transpersonal planet, Pluto affects us on a more subtle level. Pluto affects our entire society, and we are indirectly affected by Pluto because we are all part of society. When major economic or cultural shifts occur, we as individuals are affected, too.
Pluto in Aquarius – 2024-2044
On January 21, 2024, Pluto moved from Capricorn to Aquarius. This is an epochal shift, one we already got a taste of in 2023 (March to June) when Pluto spent a few weeks in Aquarius. This is when artificial intelligence and chat GPT begin to become commonplace, and when we understand that the world will never be the same again.
What can we expect in the next 20 years with Pluto in Aquarius?
People may be tempted to focus on the impact of technology and artificial intelligence, but let’s look at the deeper dynamics at play.
Capricorn and Aquarius are both ruled by Saturn. Aquarius follows Capricorn. The “rules” set by Capricorn are now being put to the test. Implemented. We’re going to see if they work.
Saturn is the set of rules and systems upon which our society is built. Capricorn is the input part of the system. Aquarius is the output, or feedback loop.
If Capricorn is the ruler and the rules, then Aquarius is the “voice of the people,” or the world’s reaction to Capricorn’s rules and regulations.
The measures of success for Pluto in Capricorn would be “becoming a published author”, “speaking at conferences”, “graduating from a prestigious university”, “having standards of achievement within the scope. A social framework is established.
Standards make sense, but they have their limitations.
Someone can be the best teacher according to Capricorn’s criteria for success, but if no students like them and if their teaching methods don’t actually work, are they still a great teacher? What makes a person a great teacher? Who set the criteria for a person to be a great teacher?
One-to-many broadcast models like radio and television made perfect sense at the time. We need funding and infrastructure (Capricorn) to build news stations and publishing houses.
However, when these pipes become one-way, used to propagate a certain (top-down) type of message, then it is natural (and in the best interest of the system) to look for information elsewhere.
We can no more fight Mother Nature than we can stop Pluto from orbiting the Sun from Capricorn into Aquarius.
Pluto in Aquarius and collective brain
When Pluto enters Aquarius, rules and guidelines put in place years, decades, or even centuries ago will be tested for effectiveness and efficiency.
Are they still relevant? Is there a better way?
When rules don’t make sense, people won’t follow them. There is a collective wisdom (Aquarius) that over time gains real life experience and “knows more” than the few at the top.
Too often, policymakers propose initiatives that stem from abstract ideals without understanding what is actually happening and without examining people’s day-to-day realities. What are they struggling with?
The paradox of being on top of a mountain (Capricorn) is that you are the furthest away from everyone else.
When you reach the top of the mountain, you can no longer see or hear what is happening on the ground.
Of course, this metaphor easily comes to mind when we think of institutions or authority figures.
What we often forget is that we all have Capricorns in our birth charts. Part of us is Capricorn. Over the past 15 years (when Pluto was in Capricorn), this part of our lives has been under very intense scrutiny. We all know a thing or two about the benefits and limitations of the Capricorn Method.
But time is passing. Pluto is entering Aquarius. Over the next 20 years, Pluto will completely change the Aquarius house in our charts from the inside out.
The more proactively we embrace change, the sooner we embody the higher expressions of Aquarius—and the less we struggle with the inevitable changes that Pluto in Aquarius brings.
What does Pluto’s move into Aquarius mean for us personally?
The Sun and Pluto enter Aquarius – a new world, a new “you”
The Sun and Pluto will enter Aquarius on January 21, 2024, which will give us a very direct and personal experience of this transition.
With Pluto in Aquarius, we no longer rely on traditional “measures” of success such as diplomas from prestigious schools, high annual incomes, ideal weights, and number of social media followers, but instead turn our attention to a more bottom-up type of success that operates Indicators of our lives.
What is the actual feedback you get from other people? What do others think you do well? What do other people think is important?
When you talk about a topic, are people really listening to you? Are they inspired and inspired? Do they ask follow-up questions? Or do they nod and look away in boredom?
Is your work appreciated—do you receive positive feedback, raises, and promotions? Or are you stuck in conflict and unable to keep your job long-term?
If you worked with others, would they ask you for more help? Or are they a one-time customer who shows up when you follow up via email?
Is your current diet or health regimen (recommended by Doctor X or Social Media Influencer Y) delivering real results for you? Or maybe there’s a different way to stay healthy by adjusting to your unique body design and needs?
As Pluto enters Aquarius, we can no longer rely on “standards” or traditional measures of success to define our goals and success in life.
Shift in emphasis from top-down success metrics”I’m a doctor/I’m a social media influencer, so I succeed”, Towards bottom-up success metrics”My results tell me if I’m on the right path and what to do next”.
Pluto in Aquarius invites us to reframe our perspective by seeking more feedback and authentic connections with others.
Pluto in Aquarius calls us to listen to the collective voice, to the wisdom of community that transcends unquestioned social rules and class structures.
Each of us is unique and has something special to offer the world. Community intelligence will help us discover and refine something unique.
