On April 8, 2024, we will have the most powerful solar eclipse of the year: the Total Solar Eclipse in Aries.
The solar eclipse is at 19° Aries, Exactly Conjunct Chiron.
The Sun, Moon, and Chiron align at 19° 24′ in the same degree and minute – I don’t recall ever witnessing a solar eclipse with an exact phase sphere; that’s huge.
During a total solar eclipse, the sun will disappear beneath the beams of the moon; likewise, the depths of our being will be revealed as our selves are purified and reborn.
Mercury retrograde also coincides with a solar eclipse. Even more special, a comet will appear in the eclipse sky. What a good omen this is!
To say the eclipse skies looked spectacular would be an understatement. Not only does the sun disappear at noon, but day turns to night (If you’re on the path of a solar eclipse). Not only are all the personal planets now visible. We also have comets!
This solar eclipse is making headlines, and for good reason. This is special.
Does this mean that everyone’s life will be greatly affected? Not all solar eclipses affect us in the same way. If the eclipse is in close aspect to a personal planet or angle in our natal chart, then yes, there is a good chance that a total solar eclipse in Aries will speak directly to us.
But even in this case, nothing concrete may happen on the day of the eclipse. While some eclipses do trigger life-changing events, let’s not forget that these are subtle energies of new beginnings. We may not yet realize the magnitude of this shift.

North Node Eclipsing Aries – Spring Cleaning
The Aries solar eclipse is a North Node solar eclipse, symbolizing a new beginning in destiny.
Aries season in general—and the New Moon in Aries in particular—marks the time of year when we start anew. This is when we metaphorically spring clean.
Spring cleaning is a way to freshen up your home after a long winter, remove dust and dirt, and prepare it for the upcoming warmer season.
In the Southern Hemisphere, although it’s not called “spring cleaning” because it’s fall, the idea of thoroughly cleaning and organizing in preparation for the seasonal change is similar.
Spring cleaning is a way to get rid of old stuff and make room for new stuff. Removing stagnant energy from dust, old clothes, or things we no longer need is more than just a symbolic act. We literally clear away the material debris of the past to make room for new energies and opportunities.
Such a simple truth, but we sometimes refuse to admit it. We must let go of the old to make room for the new.
Many people want to get what they want first.”If I understand, I will change“But that’s not how physics works. New things can only appear when space is empty and ready to receive it.
What does this concept mean in the context of a total eclipse in Aries conjunct Chiron?
Total Solar Eclipse in Aries conjunct Chiron
Simply put, the North Node Eclipse in Aries means the emergence of a new “you”. Who are you and why are you here? The drive to discover your true potential is stronger than ever.
This is a very tricky task because 90% of the time we don’t know who we are, what we want and what our mission is. Even if we do, the message will be diluted and distorted by decades of social conditioning.
We live in a world with rules and frameworks. From the moment we take our first breath, our thoughts, feelings, and mental processes are affected by the world in which we live. We think we want to pursue certain careers, get married, have families, become rich or popular, etc., because that’s how society defines success.
We are wired to “prove ourselves” and “convince” others of our worth. It all has its roots in our Chiron inadequacy wounds. All of our problems, everything we do in this life, stem from Chiron’s trauma, which is not knowing who we are and needing to be accepted and validated in order to feel whole.
We believe that if we do well according to society’s standards, if some “authority” or higher power recognizes us and tells us how great we are, then all our problems will be solved. Therefore, we strive to fit into the patterns created by society, either by “adapting” or by “fighting back.”
The way Aries attempts to heal the wounds of Chiron’s identity is by fighting head-on. “They can’t see me, but they will see me,” “I’ll try to prove them wrong,” “I’ll tell them who I really am.”
We tried to force our way through. We want to “win” – so that the world can see us and recognize us.
But the irony is, the harder we try, the farther away we get from our true selves.
When we fight “the powers that be,” all we really have to do is validate it. We give it our power. We let it define who we are.
When we fight against patriarchy, we indirectly reinforce its unwritten rules. As we struggle with our devouring mothers, we imitate them, perpetuating the pattern. When we try to convince our managers that we deserve a promotion, we undermine our true value.
Of course, we can try to fight the system. If we put our mind to it, we might get some small victories here and there. But at what price? Is it worth it? Does it really make a difference? Does it make us happy?
Total Solar Eclipse in Aries – Wounds and Gifts
The identity trauma of Chiron in Aries is especially poignant for minorities, foreigners, and other marginalized groups. When we are a minority—and all of us are, at least in some area of life—we try to “fit in” by imitating the majority.
But no matter how hard we try, no matter how much we mold our personalities to fit in, we never truly fit in or feel fully accepted.
This effort is futile. Why? Because we can only be ourselves. We cannot be someone else. We are always very good at being ourselves…and in the best cases, mediocre at being others.
Healing Chiron’s identity trauma means, in part, accepting that we can never truly “fit in” with the world.
To transform our wounds into gifts is to understand that we are not meant to do this.
“Following the rules” or “being someone else” doesn’t help us find our place in the world.
Only we can do this. Maybe you shouldn’t move up the corporate ladder. Maybe you were meant to do your own thing.
What’s weird or different about you is what makes you special. It brings something new to the world. This is your gift to the world.
By cultivating your uniqueness, you can achieve your life goals.
