timeIn the evening we all Come together to celebrate the internationally renowned annual Solstice Sun Wreath Ceremony.
If you and your family are counting down to the summer solstice (maybe also to Christmas), tonight is yours second The lighting of candles. Our first candle was lit last Sunday, November 26th.
If you are counting down only Come Christmas, you’ll light up your first Candles tonight.
I know this sounds a little confusing, but this year we have an extra Sunday between the Summer Solstice and Christmas. And so the official Christian countdown to Advent begins tonightDecember 3.
That’s why I recommend that if you want to adapt Both As is tradition, you can light additional candles on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day or any other day Add to You might as well commemorate it when the winter solstice arrives.
Please note: Even if you’re just hearing about this now, you haven’t missed it!
Because we’ll go back and relight the previous week’s candle before we light the current candle, you can join anytime Through the last lights of Christmas or Christmas! So please share – the more, the happier we are and the stronger we are.
Also, if you’re busy at sunset and can only do this later or earlier in the day, don’t worry. There must be someone, somewhere exist Some Time Zone joins you! As some have said, it’s like we’re doing a prayer version of a “wave” traveling across the globe.
☛ Likewise, please, please share! Invite everyone you know to join! ☚
For a general idea of what to do to take part in the festivities, click here. It’s really easy and takes very little time.Although I primarily write about pagan and Christian interpretations, this could easily be adapted all Major world religions and philosophies.
It’s the energy and meaning that comes from within you, not esoteric complexity (although if you yes Anyway, give it a try! ).
By the way, if you’re on Facebook, we have a private group of almost 2,000 people who are sharing their photos and thoughts. It’s very beautiful and inspiring. All I ask is that newcomers complete a short questionnaire to ensure our little corner of the platform remains safe and welcoming.
The following is the specific operation method
As you stand in front of the wreath in a dark room at sunset, take some quiet time to concentrate.
and then realized how you Master the ability to transform darkness into bright, warm illumination. If you have something to share out loud or a prayer song, please share it out loud.
You may also want to consider that you are joining this sacred circle of men, women, and children from many countries, many faiths, and many languages. Over the years, people have told me that this awareness is one of the most powerful components of this practice.
Therefore, you may wish to take a moment to open your awareness to the hundreds of us who are participating with you in this moment. In fact, if you include different time zones and sunset times, the number is in the thousands. Since 2004, this has been shared by countless other blogs, social media pages, communities, and friends—far beyond my awareness.
We may celebrate at the same time as you, before you, or after you in “real time”. But as night sweeps across the earth, we are simultaneously in the circle of eternity, in our own liminal moment.
So take some time to feel the deep peace of darkness. Thank you for its gestation, for the sweet blackness that nurtures and nourishes our roots, for the mystery that nourishes us, for the sleep that removes our weariness and gives space to our dreams.
Then, with our intentions in mind, light your first candle (from last week) as dusk deepens.
Focus on all that it means to you and maybe reflect on this out loud with your loved ones. Has its importance changed or become stronger for you since that first illumination? For pagan participants this may have been a candle representing air or the east.
As you light the candle, bask in its beautiful light and express gratitude in whatever way your heart speaks to you.
fire candle
Next, gaze at the unlit second candle.
Many earth traditions that count down to may see the second candle as representing fire elementin terms of its role as a hearth and as an element of hospitality.
So let’s think about what fire is and what it has to offer.
In its shadow, our friends in Canada, Chile, Australia, Greece, Brazil, the United States (especially Maui), and Spain can attest to the profound destructive power of fire. Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods to the devastation of this year’s wildfires.
Fire represents humanity’s need for warmth and light, which drives the endless pursuit of fossil fuels, leading to global climate catastrophe and multiple wars.
This, in turn, is exacerbating the unprecedented wildfire problem.
gift of fire
Tonight, you may recognize these shadows. But then, turn your awareness to Gift The fire in your life.
Fire is the essence of life – the electrochemical flow is the life force itself.
It purifies, transforms, burns away what must be given up in order to supply life force. Passion is often referred to as our fire, and we all experience physical desire as a burning energy. Fire is our creativity, our hospitality. Fire nourishes us and we feed the fire in our lives.
This is a precious gift Prometheusthis is a divine blessing bridget. It governs the Tarot deck of Wands.
You might imagine bonfires lit on ancient mountaintops, signaling times of need or celebration. Think of our ancestors’ fireplaces, soup bubbling and children gathered together in warmth and safety while an icy wind blew outside.
If you only count down to Christmas
Welcome all family and friends who have begun the Christian season of Advent today.
for christians no Still counting down to the summer solstice, tonight is yours first Candle. In many denominations it stands for hope. Other denominations believe the first candle commemorated Isaiah and other prophets and seers in the Bible.
Note how this goes with any solstice Celebrants in your home view their first candle as the element of air, for in the beginning was the Word.
When you light a candle, notice how the candle changes darkness into light. Isn’t this what we all want regardless of denomination or creed?
light bringer
Know that our candles tonight are lit by others from across the globe who join in this ceremony. Together we will chase the gloom, wetness and cold that chilled us last year.
Stare at the twinkling lights and you’ll see how bright everything becomes! This is the change we will see in the coming year.
Celebrate our light with song, story, prayer, or silence. Let the light of your sun wreath warm you in as many ways as you and others present wish to share.
Finally, when you are ready, say goodbye to it gently and reverently, extinguish the second candle, then the first.
It should be praised.
