From May 8th to 10th, Mercury moves to the end of Pisces, known as the “Gandanta” where troubled emotional knots need to be untied. In early Aries, it is also in the Gandan Pagoda (0-3 degrees Aries), but the energy bursts out quickly and is not as troublesome as the water phase in Pisces.

From May 10 to 21, Mercury will be in the constellation Ashwini (0-13.20 Aries). Ashwini is known in modern astronomy as Alpha Aries and Beta Aries near the bright star Andromeda. Ashwini’s symbol is the horse’s head, which represents fearless adventurous spirit and strong nature. This shift often fosters self-starters and the energy to complete projects. It is also a very healing sign, so there will be more energy for healing.The ruling god is Ashwin The twins ride in a golden chariot, spreading healing energy over the earth. They are “physicians of the gods.” This is a star of enlightenment, revival and transformational healing. The ruling planet is Ketu (South Node of the Moon), which brings a mystical quality to their life journey.
The first part of the transit is through Aries 0-3 degrees (May 11-13), with the potential to find new beginnings in the new cycle of growth initiated by entering the beginning of the zodiac. Energy can untie deep karmic knots, but frustration can still arise strongly given all the changes taking place in the sky.

Ashwini’s ruling sign is Ketu which stimulates you into new spiritual growth and development, but Ketu is still quite suffering in transit as it is in 6/8 relationship with Saturn and will be with you from May 19th to 20th Mars 180 degrees in aspect may create an interest in new projects but an inability or inability to complete them, or a lot of indecision and frustration about them, so make sure you only take on what you can handle. It can also lead to being stubborn or running wildly with too much “bronco” energy, so be sure to slow down and keep your balance.

Mercury in Ashwini brings strong and fiery intellect, may be impulsive, independent and enterprising mind, wanting to get things done too quickly, this may lead to frustration, angry mind, bad planning, cheating, too much debt or risk, abuse of power.

Pay attention to the maintenance of home appliances, electrical equipment and computers as the Mercury/Ketu combination through the nakshatra and the latent energy of Ketu will bring challenges, the key is to be patient. Remember Mercury is associated with Hermes and the Trickster and likes to play with you to see if you stay calm and cool and collected from the spanners it sometimes throws, so be patient.

From May 21 to 29, Mercury transits Barani (13.20-26.40 Aries) (pronounced BAR-AN-NEE) and is ruled by Venus. To astronomers, it consists of the three stars 35, 39, and 41 Aries, and its symbol is the female vagina, meaning that it embodies the eternal creative female energy in the womb. It is associated with the ability to receive, hold and nurture, and even has some Kali energy associated with destruction, as the archetypal quality of a mother who will protect her child at all costs.

Emotionally, this sign embodies caution, jealousy, struggle, sacrifice, sex, catharsis, nurturing, and maternal love. It is also associated with Yama, the god of death and transformation, and operates in hidden, unpredictable ways and enjoys its secrecy. Yama is not the serious god we usually think of, he also has a light and fun expression, he is a benevolent god and should not be feared. Therefore, the Bharani constellation involves the extremes of creation and destruction of life.

Barani oscillates between desire for life and fear of death, between innocence and wisdom. It has the excitement of a young child, able to explore its surroundings without restrictions. If your rising sign or moon was born under this sign or under your sun (April 27 to May 10), you are capable of undergoing dramatic transformations and radical changes and need to exhaust all in your pursuits possibility.
