Essential oils have many esoteric uses beyond traditional aromatherapy. In fact, many seasoned spiritual seekers use essential oils in their daily practice. But what’s less well known is that these magical oils can also be used to enhance intuition and promote psychic awareness.
Aromatic substances also help improve focus and clarity during meditation, divination, energy healing, and channeling. By tapping into your sense of smell, you can more effectively anchor your awareness in the present moment, reduce distractions, and promote a state of mindfulness or mental attunement to open your intuitive channels. I also feel more attuned to subtle energies and spiritual beings when I use aromatherapy in my psychic work.
Essential oils are wonderful spiritual tools that promote relaxation, mental clarity, and emotional balance, creating a supportive environment for exploring your intuition and inner awareness.
Smells are closely linked to the brain’s limbic system, which is associated with emotions, memory and instinctive reactions. When we encounter a specific smell, it can elicit a strong emotional or subconscious response. In spiritual practices, certain scents can trigger deep-seated feelings or associations that help create specific mental or emotional states that are conducive to spiritual experiences.
Overall, the power of smells and aromas in spiritual and esoteric practices is multifaceted, involving a combination of sensory, psychological, cultural, and symbolic factors. Scent is a powerful tool for creating sacred space, enhancing spiritual experiences and promoting inner transformation through its profound effects on mind, body and spirit.

The concept of soul aroma
Psychic aromatherapy, also known as aromatic telepathy (APT), is a term used to describe the use of aromatic substances, such as essential oils or incense, to enhance psychic or spiritual experiences. This practice involves the use of specific scents to stimulate psychic awareness, induce altered mental states, and promote meditative focus and mindfulness.
This concept is based on the fact that certain aromas can have a profound impact on the mind and spirit, affecting mood, consciousness, and mental states. Therefore, aromatic substances can serve as a conduit or catalyst for spiritual energy, helping you connect with your intuition, enhance your psychic abilities, and even enter altered states of consciousness.
Historically, aroma has played an important role in the spiritual and mystical traditions of many cultures. For example, it was a key element in the oracular ritual at Delphi in the ancient Greek temple of Apollo. The Oracle, also known as the Pythia, was a psychic priestess in the temples whose prophetic messages were highly influential in the ancient world.
The name Pythia actually comes from Pytho, the original name of Delphi in mythology.Etymologically, the Greeks derived the place name from the verb Gravy and cheese friesreferring to the sickly sweet smell emanating from the rotting corpse of the giant serpent slain by the god Apollo.
Before delivering a prophecy, the Pythia underwent purification rituals that included the use of aromatic smoke or incense. Purification is essential to prepare the oracle for connection with the divine and to convey her message clearly and powerfully. Some scholars have also suggested that the smoke from the burning of bay leaves and barley in the temple may have had psychoactive effects, causing altered states of consciousness that promoted the trance-like state in which the Pythians delivered their prophecies.
For several years I have been using natural oil extracts mixed with water and sprinkled in my therapy room, reading room and living area at home. I find it improves my clarity and mental state, making me more receptive and focused at work.
I use different scent combinations depending on the benefits I want at the time. Using jojoba oil, coconut oil, hemp oil or just water as a base and adding oils of my choice, I’ve also created everything from body lotions and after-sun moisturizers to bath salts, balms, insect repellents, and massage oils and other products. I also use an infuser, but I find that the scent from an infuser doesn’t last very long.

Essential oils for spiritual awareness
Choosing essential oils for divination, intuitive development, and psychic work is a very personal and subjective process, as different scents resonate with different people in unique and personal ways. To find the essential oils that work best for you, you can start by trying some of the following essential oils that are often associated with enhancing these practices.
sage: Known as the “Oil of Vision,” Clary Sage is said to unveil the third eye, open access to clairvoyance, and intuitive understanding. It also brings clarity, discernment and expansion to the brow chakra. Clary sage is often used to stimulate intuition and enhance dream work. Clary sage’s herbal aroma also brings a sense of calm and inner peace, making it a valuable companion for divination and intuitive exploration.
mastic: Frankincense has a long history of use in spiritual and religious rituals as this oil strengthens our connection to the spirit and the sacred. Its rich, resinous aroma is grounding and uplifting, making it ideal for enhancing spiritual experiences. It also helps break down the walls created by past emotional pain and let the light in. Known as the “Oil of Truth,” it brings enlightenment, spiritual protection from negative energies, and restores your soul’s connection to a higher power.
Lavender: Lavender is known for its soothing, calming and balancing effects on the mind and mood. It promotes relaxation, reduces stress and clears mental clutter, which is essential for divination and psychic work. The gentle floral scent of lavender is soothing and uplifting, helping to open the mind and enhance intuitive insight. Lavender also helps reduce anxiety and stress, which can interfere with intuition.
Patchouli: Patchouli is associated with grounding and mental balance. Its earthy and musky aroma is thought to stabilize the mind and stimulate inner awareness. Patchouli can deepen meditation, increase spiritual receptivity, and promote a sense of spiritual connection. It is often used to promote a deeper understanding of oneself and the universe.
Roman Chamomile: This oil guides individuals to achieve their true purpose in life. It calms the mind and allows the soul to speak through inner knowing. Roman Chamomile is also a powerful energy cleansing oil that protects against spiritual attacks and can deepen divine connections when used in meditation.
Rose: Rose essential oil heals the soul, activates our empathic awareness, gives and receives love and compassion, and raises the energy frequency of the heart chakra, the inner bridge between our physical and spiritual realms. As the “Oil of Divine Love,” it attracts compassion, empathy, and love.
sandalwood: Sandalwood is known for its calming and centering properties. It is often used to calm the mind, increase concentration and deepen meditation. Sandalwood’s woody and earthy aroma is believed to promote spiritual growth, intuition and receptivity to higher realms of consciousness. It promotes inner reflection and introspection and aids in the development of mental abilities.
When using essential oils for divination, intuition, and psychic development, consider your personal preferences and how each scent resonates with you. You can try individual oils or create your own blends based on your intuition and desired intention.
Remember to use high-quality, pure essential oils and dilute them appropriately for topical use. Incorporate these essential oils into your spiritual practices such as meditation, visualization, divination, and channeling to support your journey of inner exploration and spiritual growth.
It is important to remember that essential oils should never be ingested. They can be diffused in the air, diluted and applied topically, or added to bath water. Always consult a healthcare professional before using essential oils, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or have any chronic or underlying health conditions.

Essential Oil Sprays Bring Intuitive Clarity
Everyone has intuition and the ability to see or feel beyond the five senses, but sometimes the clarity of our extrasensory perceptions is hindered by external forces such as pollution and technology. Sometimes it can be hindered by the cluttered mind that many people carry around with them.
When this happens to me, I mix up a batch of Sprite in a small bottle with only about four ounces of distilled or purified water, and three drops of each of the following: Patchouli Oil, Lavender Oil, Eucalyptus Oil . If I want a sweeter scent, I add three drops of pure rose oil.
Make sure your Sprite is in a dark bottle and shaken well. Essential oils should never be used in clear bottles or exposed to sunlight as they are sensitive to UV rays and extreme heat.
If you spray this mixture right away, it will smell great. However, if you let it sit and infuse and let the scents blend together, the smell will be amazing. Shake it frequently while sitting. It takes about an hour for the scent to fully sink in, and then you’re ready to go.
Spray a little around the chair you’ll be sitting on and above your head. Don’t worry, it won’t harm you if it gets on your skin. Breathe in the scent you create. Sit in a chair, take out a pen and paper and put them in your lap. Spray on head again. Then close your eyes, breathe in the clarity, and breathe out the clutter. Do this for a few minutes.
Next, ask a question that you would like your guide or angel to answer as you continue to breathe clearly and exhale the clutter. When you feel like you can stop, open your eyes and write down the first thing that comes to your mind. Don’t think about what you’re writing, just write. Don’t worry if you don’t get an answer, because sometimes confusion is worse than clarity. However, if you practice this, you’ll soon have an accurate answer to the question.
Essential oils can greatly enhance your sixth sense. When you feel clogged, when your brain is plagued by negative self-talk, use this simple Sprite recipe and breathe. It opens the mind to another dimension.
